Introduction to Advanced CFD Post-processing, Data Visualization, and Communication
May 22-23, 2010
William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education
Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

Attendance is limited to 24 participants.
You may register by selecting the appropriate box on the Symposium Registration form.

Abstract. This short course is tailored for CFD. The course focus is on gaining additional insight into the results of CFD simulations through advanced data exploration, visualization, animation, and communication. The course is divided into two days:

  • Saturday, May 22 – Sunday, May 23: Day 1 and 2: This course will give an overview of EnSight capabilities and cover most of its basic features. It is assumed that attendees have little or no prior experience with EnSight. This is a hands-on course. Concepts will be taught through the course notes, demonstrations by the instructor, and by using EnSight to complete a number of exercises. EnSight is a large package. Attendees will not be experts at the end of this course, but will be able to take advantage of most of its capabilities for their daily work.

The course will be exploiting the advanced data visualization, exploration, and animation features in CEI's entire family of data visualization, analysis, and communication products including the free communication tools: EnVE, EnLiten, Reveal, and EnVideo.  Differences between EnSight and EnSight CFD will be explored to help the student choose for their needs.
